2013 SAG Awards Style

By Kelsey Reynolds

Awards season is in full swing, brining welcome color to the dull winter months as the stars dazzle us with their “red carpet” looks.

The Screen Actors Guild Awards, better known as the SAG Awards, is one of the first shows of award season, and although lesser-known than other awards extravaganzas, it did not disappoint. I’ve rounded up different outfits from the night. Let’s take a look…

To start off on a high note, we have my top pick of the night: Amanda Seyfried in Zac Posen.  She wore navy, which was a popular color that evening, but the silhouette is what made the dress noteworthy. At first I questioned Seyfried’s pendant necklace, but after OscarPRGirl tweeted her approval, I couldn’t help but agree.

Next we have Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen. Chastain was most improved after receiving poore reviews for the mint dress she wore to the Golden Globes earlier this month. She took the monochromatic trend to the next level and showed all redheads that they can wear the color, too.

Next on the roundup: Rose Byrne wearing Valentino. Byrne’s look was unique in a sea of strapless solids. The ruffles, pastel color palette and floral pattern were all very feminine. Nicole Kidman, in Vivienne Westwood Couture, pulled off beading, sheer fabric and a slit all in one gown — no easy task, but Kidman performed impeccably well. Last, Freida Pinto in Roland Mouret, was smart in her choice of color: The hot pink of the dress complemented her skin tone in the best way possible.
